Paul Hobbs had a vision 30 years ago to craft vineyard designate wines, and he is highly regarded for his ability to identify such exceptional vineyards. Nathan Coombs vineyard is one of those finds. Situated on gently sloping terrain in southern Napa Valley, this cooler site for Cabernet Sauvignon, according to Paul, “reveals cassis, mocha and black olive with an intensely structured palate of earth and dark chocolate, possessing bold, chewy tannins that fill the mouth.” Wine Advocate awarded it 99 points: “It is a killer effort and a great example of Coombsville viticulture. Kudos to Paul Hobbs.”
