A relatively cool vintage produced what the Wine Spectator called a “benchmark” wine in 2018. Not one, but two, 99-point reviews gushed over its “firm, chewy tannins framing a deep core of dark fruit” and “incredibly intense nose of dark chocolate, warm cassis, baked plums, and Morello cherries.” At this level, Cabernet simply does not get more graceful, complex, and age-worthy. 20+ years of graceful evolution is not at all out of the question—it’s one of Napa’s time-honored greats, plain and simple!
